Dr. Anne Zachry has been a pediatric occupational therapist for over 30 years and has a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, with her doctorate related to tummy time and mobility. Her mission is to empower parents by sharing evidence-based strategies and resources to promote infant and child development. She has written for Pregnancy & Newborn Magazine, Babytalk Magazine, Parenthood.com, Babble.com, Parents.com, and she has developed a parenting course for Daily OM. She has been quoted in Parenting magazine, Education.com and Sheknows.com and has served as a “ProSquad” parenting advisor for parentingsquad.com. Her research has been published in national peer-reviewed journals and in her profession’s trade magazines. Her blog is Pediatric Occupational Therapy Tips is a wonderful resource for anyone who has a child with special needs in their life. Her book, “Retro Baby, Cut Back on all the Gear and Boost Your Baby’s Development with over 100 Time-Tested Activities” won the Independent Bookseller’s Benjamin Franklin Gold Medal. She is also the author of “Retro Toddler, More than 100 Old-School Activities to Promote Development. She is an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Dr. Zachry is happily married with three adult children.
